An Oldstyle invention from the hand of Morris Fuller Benton, with the collaboration of his father Linn Boyd Benton, produced at ATF in 1907, immediately following his preparation of Century Old Style. The design was a serious attempt to improve legibility by a seven year study of lettershapes. Victor Caruso has expanded Clearface into a full series for ITC, who licenses the design from ATF.
