Berlin-based FontShop International, started by Erik Spiekermann, Joan Spiekermann, and Neville Brody in 1989/1990, offers its own line of digital fonts under the FontFont label.
The FontFont library, claiming to hold the world’s largest collection of original, contemporary typefaces (around 2,000 original fonts, growing at around 200 per year), focuses mainly on the work of contemporary type designers including Just van Rossum, Erik van Blokland, David Berlow, Max Kisman, Tobias Frere-Jones, Fred Smeijers, Martin Majoor, and many others.
Experimental fonts, pushing the boundaries of legibility and good taste, are occasionally released under the FUSE name, also the name of a series of typography conferences organized by FontShop International.
