Prototype Fonts

Prototype Experimental Foundry was started in 1994 by Charles Wilkin, owner of Automatic Art and Design in New York City as a means to translate Charles' collage style illustration into typographic form.

The result is a unique mix of style and function, ranging from organic and modern to textural and illegible.

Many of our fonts were created specifically for layering with images, graphics or other typefaces. We encourage you to experiment with our fonts and discover new and exciting ways to use them!
