Frantisek Storm founded the Storm Type Foundry in Prague in 1993 with the aim of restoring the values of classical typography for the benefit of digital technologies. We started by drawing alphabets which could be used in book printing, then we proceeded to alphabets for film- and photosetting and nowadays, in the era of computers, we use the experience we have gained to make digital type faces more human.
When digitizing original Czech type faces we cooperate with Otakar Karlas, Jan Solpera and Josef Tyfa. All of them are experienced Czech designers. We are convinced that such teamwork is a guarantee of the permanence of the artistic value of our typefaces.
Storm fonts include full character sets for Central Europe, as well as the usual Latin 1 Western European set. (Central European languages supported include Czech, Polish, Hungarian, Croatian, Albanian, Romanian, Slovak, and Slovenian.) For compatibility with old applications, MyFonts.com can supply CE-only fonts to customers who purchase the regular fonts.
