Thirstype is an international group of typographers creating and publishing new typefaces. The foundry was launched in 1994 by Rick Valicenti to publish his Bronzo font. The foundry also represents the work of Barry Deck, Magnus Rakeng, Patric King, chester, Patrick Giasson, Claudio Piccinini, and Hugo d'Alte.

From 1994-2000 the foundry was run by Rick, from 2001-2003 Rick and chester were partners. Since 2004, chester has run the foundry.
