Bo Berndal started out during World War II in the composing room as a Linotype operator. Bo’s career spans several technological shifts in the typographical world; from hot to cold type, from filmsetting to digital type. His type is now published by Swedish foundry T4.

An award-winning calligrapher, his fascination with letterforms led to the design of well over 100 typefaces. Success as a graphic designer helped him co-found the Swedish advertising agency, BIGG, in the 1980s. Attached to BIGG was Hålet, a gallery dedicated to the typographic art.

Since the term “retirement” doesn't mean anything for Bo Berndal, he continues to design typefaces. Bo Berndal uses a Mac.
