Since joining Bitstream in 1986, John Collins developed several pieces of font technology, including Fontware, Speedo, 4-in-1, TrueDoc and, most recently, the world’s smallest stroke-based fonts for Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages. These developments have resulted in five U.S. patents being awarded.

In 1999 John Collins became leader of the MyFonts team. He is also Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Bitstream Inc., the parent company of MyFonts.
