A faux script font typical of classic american branding. I have totally reworked all the letterforms: they started with a “notch” and ended flat - I have removed the “notch” and rounded off the ending stroke, so now you can actually start words with the lowercase letters. I have also improved the spacing (especially after the capitals), and of course added all the “foreign” glyphs. A classic is reborn!

Isbellium is a sans serif version of Dick Isbell’s Americana type, the last type cut in metal by the American Type Founders Co. (ATF). Isbell’s Americana has a wide stance with a great deal of elegance and Isbellium tries to hang on to that elegance. This is more difficult to achieve in a sans serif than a serif type. It has some of the flair of the serif but with a quieter voice and a polite authority.

A font by Christian Acker (2003), based upon the practice of the Americana folk art tradition of tattoo design. Americana was designed by typeface artist Richard Isbell in 1965. The typeface family consists of two weights and their respective italics. The generous forms of this typeface contain large inner spaces. Lines of text look light and airy and require generous line spacing. The high cross strokes and the open inner spaces make this font highly legible even in small and very small point sizes. The triangular serifs are a distinguishing characteristic of Americana. These first appeared in the 19th century in France and inspired by the developments in lithography, which allowed for freer forms. The forms were typical for advertisement and display typefaces. The sophisticated Americana is particularly suitable for advertisements and personal correspondence.
